Chennai super Kings Caption M S Dhoni won the toss elected to bowl first

DC came in for batting first with their opener Prithvi shaw & shikhar Dhawan.Youthful Prithvi Shaw struck a beautiful Half century and shared an a 94-run opening stand with Shikhar Dhawan to direct Delhi Capitals to 175 for three. Shaw made 64 off 43 balls in the organization of Dhawan (35 off 27 balls, 3 fours, 1 six) to give a brilliant beginning to DC's innings in the wake of being placed into bat.

The pair began gradually, scoring only 36 runs of the initial six overs of powerplay before opening up to fasten 94 runs for the initial wicket in 10.4 overs.

Shaw got into his step, hitting two continuous limits off Deepak Chahar.

The Mumbai youth didn't seem to surge things and played some appealing shots..

CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni presented the turn couple of Piyush Chawla and Ravindra Jadeja in the seventh over, both Shaw and Dhawan went in all out attack mode.

Chawla, who was dismantled by Sanju Samson in their past game against Rajasthan Royals, came in for some harsh treatment as did Jadeja who went wicketless in his four overs (0/44).

Dhawan subsequent to assuming a supporting role for some time, joined the gathering and hit two or three alluring limits and trudged Jadeja's first ball for a six over mid-wicket

CSK's lacklustre batting performance to register their second consecutive win of the tournament, which took them to the top of the points table. Dhoni did not push himself up the order, given the expectations after his decision to hold himself back in the game against Rajasthan Royals backfired, which meant the veteran again did not have enough time and balls to take his side home. South African Faf du Plessis was the top-scorer with 43 for CSK but his compatriots Kagiso Rabada (3 for 26) and Anrich Nortje (2 for 21) shone with the ball to fashion a memorable win for Delhi Capitals.

It was a complete performance from the Delhi Capitals. They might just be a bit crossed with a few dropped chances but overall it was a very good performance with both bat and ball by DC. They climb to the top of the table.

It’s exactly the opposite for CSK. They are struggling in all departments. Their spinners are leaking runs, the seamers are not striking with the new ball and their batters can’t get off to a good start.
