Petrol and diesel prices are constantly rising. Saturday was the fourth day in a row that the price of motor fuel has risen. After 35 increases, petrol is sold at R107.24 a liter in Delhi and diesel at R95.97 a liter.
In Mumbai, the price of petrol and diesel per liter stands at R113.12 and R104.00 respectively.
Prices for these fuels have risen 19 times since September 28, reports Hindustan Times' sister sister Livehindustan. As a result, petrol prices have skyrocketed by 7 5.7 a liter and diesel prices have risen by ₹ 7 a liter since September 24. Since then, diesel prices have risen 22 times, reports Livehindustan.
An immediate release is not expected, however, the central government is talking to oil exporting countries. Between May 4 and July 17, petrol prices rose by ₹ 11.44 per liter and diesel prices increased by 14 9.14 per liter.
Prices have been raised nationwide and vary from province to province depending on the nature of the tax increases.
The relentless rise in prices has made the level of petrol and diesel a record for the whole country. Petrol costs more than ₹ 100 liters or more in almost every major city, while diesel is at that level in more than a dozen states and union areas (UTs).
Rising fuel prices have allayed concerns about inflation as diesel is the main fuel used to transport goods, including agricultural goods.
Opposition parties in the ANC have blamed the government for the rising tariffs.
LPG GAS PRICE DAY BY DAY INCREASING
The price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has also risen by Rs 15. Cooking gas and motor oil have risen sharply this year. This has been the fourth straight increase in the price of LPG cylinders in less than two months. The price of a domestic cooking gas cylinder has been increased by Rs 205, from January 1.

The price of an LPG gas cylinder is calculated based on the import price (IPP). IPP is based on the value of LPG in international markets considering the country's imported fuel. The LPG price of Saudi Aramco, includes the price of FOB (free on board), marine goods, insurance, tax services, port fees and more. The price is then converted to Rupees. In addition, there are international prices such as GST, property tax, asset cost. The price of home cooking gas is reset every month in India on this basis. Prices for the LPG cylinder vary from state to state with state-wise taxes, such as petrol and diesel.
